28 Apr 1882 – Not Quite Leaving

Well, the Haye family is finally on the road headed out west. Unfortunately, Bertie has not yet shared his diary with me. AlI I know is that their first stop will be to visit the Binns family in Springfield, PA. They might be there a week, but they have not yet figured that one out. Mostly because they have not gotten there yet. I also know that they will be on the road, all day. Remember that they are in a horse drawn buckboard and the roads get worse as you go west. But I am thinking of having them stop at the Museum of Art. If you would like to see them stop there, for lunch maybe, let me know in an email to jeffb@hayefamily.net. Oh, if you like the story, please tell a friend.

Many thanks to Dwight Burdette for the photo of the buckboard. Dwight Burdette, CC BY 3.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0, via Wikimedia Commons

Mr Binns’ buckboard is a little longer to make room for all of his supplies.
